Testimonials

Before I met Ashley, I felt like my stutter was just something I had to learn to live with. Growing up I thought my stutter was something no one could help me with because I was a teenager—that it was too late. I thought my stutter was the thing that no one my age would understand and accept me for. I often felt alone with my struggles.

When I started seeing Ashley, my life truly changed. Since the beginning, she saw me as not just someone who stutters but someone full of potential. Thanks to the constant support from Ashley, I have grown confidence in myself and achieved things I never could have imagined. She taught me to be proud to be someone who stutters, not let it prevent me from achieving my dreams, and use it as a strength rather than a weakness.

Ashley was there with me through every obstacle, moment of self-doubt, personal milestone, and the start of a new life chapter. She always knew the right words to say, the next step in reaching my goal, and knew exactly what I needed to keep moving forward. Through Ashley I have found a community of teens and adults who stutter—people who understand me in ways I never thought were possible. And just as importantly, I now feel confident in sharing my stutter with those who don’t. As I enter adulthood, I look back and realize I’ve become the version of myself I once thought was just a dream. Ashley is incredible—not just at her job, but in who she is. Everyone needs an Ashley in their life!

Questions

  • At this time, Daylight Stuttering and Speech Therapy does not accept insurance. Operating as a private-pay practice allows for the highest level of flexibility and personalization. Not billing insurance allows therapy to be guided by individual needs rather than restrictions placed by insurance companies. This means frequency, duration, and goals of therapy can be tailored specifically to what is most meaningful and effective without meeting “medical necessity criteria” to begin and maintain services.

Your insurance plan may accept superbills, which are detailed invoices you can submit to your insurance company for potential out-of-network reimbursement. A superbill can be provided for clients wishing to seek out-of-network reimbursement, depending on individual insurance plan benefits. Clients are encouraged to check with their insurance provider to understand coverage options.

  • Book a free consultation with Ashley to discuss your goals and the therapeutic process.

  • Therapy duration and frequency recommendations will be determined following the evaluation. Therapy sessions are client-driven and highly individualized. Therapeutic time is centered around unique goals, preferences, and communication needs. Each session is collaborative, and therapy may evolve over time based on personal experiences, progress, and feedback.

  • The length of therapy varies for each individual and depends on personal goals, preferences, and how support may evolve over time. Some people engage in short-term therapy to focus on a specific goal or situation, while others prefer ongoing support as they progress toward goals and communication needs shift. The therapist will regularly check in to make sure therapy continues to feel useful, relevant, and aligned with what matters most to you.

  • Parent involvement is an important part of the therapy process. You'll be included in the evaluation process, goal-setting, given regular updates on your child's progress, and supported with strategies to foster communication at home. Therapy is a highly-individualized process, with your child’s input for solution-focused progress. Depending on your child’s age and personal preferences for your involvement, you may participate directly in sessions or collaborate through check-ins with your child and/or therapist. Your insights and questions are always welcomed by the therapist.

  • All virtual sessions are conducted through SimplePractice, a secure, HIPAA-compliant platform designed specifically for healthcare providers. Initial intake forms will be completed through the SimplePractice secure platform. You’ll receive a unique video link before each session with no downloads or logins required. SimplePractice makes it easy to join appointments, communicate securely, and access any shared resources, all from the comfort of your own space.
